Her practice focuses on advising these clients on executive compensation, employment and benefits matters, equity compensation plans, executive compensation, employment and severance arrangements, insider trading and restricted securities matters, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and venture financings. Sharon also represents individual executives in negotiating their employment arrangements. Sharon is an active member of the Subcommittee on Employee Benefits, Executive Compensation and Section 16 of the American Bar Association Section of Business Law, Federal Regulation of Securities Committee. She has been routinely recognized as a leading employment, benefits and compensation attorney by Chambers USA and named a Northern California Super Lawyer four years in a row. In 2009 she was named one of The Best Lawyers in America® in the specialty of Employee Benefits Law. Sharon has published articles on compensation and insider transaction matters, including a recent article on Rule 10b5-1 trading plans. She regularly speaks on executive compensation at a number of conferences including NASPP, PLI, and Northwestern Law Seminars. She has also participated in various conferences on general venture capital, technology law and securities disclosure topics, including in 2007 the ITechLaw Conference in Bangalore, India. Sharon received her J.D., cum laude, from University of Chicago Law School and her A.B. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University. She is a former law clerk for the Honorable Eugene Davis and the Honorable John Duhe, both on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Lafayette, Louisiana. Prior to joining Gunderson Dettmer, Sharon was a shareholder at Heller Erhman and prior to that a director at Venture Law Group. Sharon is admitted to practice in California. | |
